Happenings at Cleveland College of Chiropractic L.A.

CCCLA Introduces Two Service Programs

Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles (CCCLA) recently started two new community service programs. One program is a continuation of LACC's current assistance to Love Is Feeding Everyone (LIFE) and the other is directed toward city employees in the Municipality Workers' Program.

The CCCLA clinic will offer on Fridays, from noon to three p.m., complimentary adjustments to those patients who bring at least $5 worth of canned goods to the clinic. This canned food will be donated to LIFE, which is a charity organization assisting needy families across California. The CCCLA clinic supported LIFE earlier this year when it held Helping Other People Eat (HOPE) day to collect food.

The clinic is also offering discounted adjustment rates to city employees who are in the Municipality Workers' Program. All employees of the city of Los Angeles can receive chiropractic adjustments for $125 per quarter year.

CCCLA Interns Speak on Chiropractic at USC

CCCLA President Carl S. Cleveland III, Admissions Director Mr. Paul Forgetta, ninth trimester student Randy Kemberling, and tenth trimester intern Dr. Kathy Hornbaker represented CCCLA at the University of Southern California's first Allied Health Career Day. Dr. Cleveland spoke to USC students about chiropractic's increasing acceptance in the health care market and its emerging participation in the mainstream health delivery system. Dr. Hornbaker and Randy Kemberling presented a case study for the students.

"It was good to see the eager and sincere interest of USC students in the chiropractic approach to health and wellness," Dr. Cleveland said. Mr. Forgetta commented that USC officials said they were pleased with the audience turnout and that they planned to make the health career day an annual event.
