The proposition was defeated by a comfortable margin of 68 percent to 31 percent. Said CCA President Dr. James E. Peterson, "Much of the CCA's success in defeating this onerous proposal can be directly attributed to the massive grassroots campaign waged within the chiropractic community." Some of those efforts included profession-wide distribution of a patient information flyer that was displayed in almost every chiropractic office in the state, and DC-authored letters to the editor that were published in local papers throughout the state.
