If you haven't surfed chiropractic web sites lately, you're really missing some cool stuff available nowadays via the Internet, aka the information superhighway. If you haven't seen the chiropractic web sites, stay right here. I'll get you there in no time at all. Too busy, you say? No problem. To make your time more productive on-line, I have compiled a list of must-see web addresses (or in cyberspace parlance, Web URLs).

The Wide Wide Wide World of the WW.Web.com.

Every time you connect to the World Wide Web, it seems that you can find something new and wonderful. Today, some of the most compelling sites include the home pages of sites dedicated to chiropractic. Not surprisingly, many of the major, and not so major, chiropractic organizations have a web presence. The content of these sites range from the strictly clinical (radiology, neurology, herbology), to public education: e.g., evidence for the effectiveness of chiropractic; how to choose a chiropractor; the first things you should do if you hurt your back.

In a way, the web is alive. It's growing, developing in maturity, and changing in appearance. It is interactive, informative and entertaining. The public and your patients can visit a web site to see a subluxation or learn about the innate healing powers of the body. You can listen on Internet radio, travel in virtual 3D worlds, see inside the human body with incredible detail and much more.

Cool Stuff on Chiropractic Web Sites

The site know as Chiropractic Case Studies Reference Page presents a variety of case studies and chiropractic case management information which, according to the author, is presented in a critical manner. For example, one of the case studies discusses the successful care of a 65-year old male with low back pain, left sciatica, paresthesia along the path of the sciatic nerve, and anesthesia of the sole of the left foot drop.

The homepage for Chiropractic Neurology Diplomate Sites entices the visitor by noting that chiropractic's second century will be vastly different from its first. In part, this is due to the fact that the theories proposed by our predecessors now have scientific validity in the field of neurology. Hence, the author states, some paradigms will need to be transformed. With this said, you are invited to browse through their web site with an open mind. While there, make sure you turn to the Physical Exam Workshop page where you will find very detailed instructions on how to conduct a neurologic examination. The homepage for this site contains an easy-to-use search engine to help you find just about whatever you want from the web and Usenet groups.

For the Politically Active and Not-so-Politically Active Web Surfers

No matter what your political agenda may be, the message for all of us is quite simple: The more people we get involved legislatively, the greater an impact we can have on health/chiropractic issues. Getting involved is now easier than making a cup of java.

The best web site for this purpose is Chiropractic Activist Sample Letters. This site specializes in making it easy for you to send letters to political leaders. This site makes it so easy that I sent a letter to my congressman concerning my stand on HR 995 (the Targeted Health Insurance Reform Act) while I wrote this article. It's so simple. This is a must visit web site!
