As chiropractors we are all familiar with the healer within each human being. D.D. Palmer called it innate intelligence. It is that force of life that causes healing to occur. This book introduces the lay person to their own healing and recuperative powers via five sections and six authors. The most eloquent and compelling of the authors is Dr. Gilles LaMarche. His chapter, "The Wonder of Chiropractic," is a powerful essay on chiropractic philosophy. The other authors each make very nice contributions to the book.

Michael Billauer, DC, a chiropractor practicing in Marina del Rey, California, is widely published in newspapers and magazines. His wife Madonna teaches at UCLA and Santa Monica Hospital. Tomas Nani is a licensed massage therapist and president of a massage table company. His chapter, "The Healing Touch," addresses the benefits of massage in our touch-phobic culture. Gilles LaMarche, DC, practices in Ontario, Canada. He is a member of the CMCC Governor's Club, a pioneer of the Parker College of Chiropractic, and was awarded the Parker College Research Foundation Chiropractor of the Year award in 1988. Ann Raymer, DC, practices in Moscow, Idaho. In 1989, she was awarded the Humanitarian Award by Ward Management Corporation. W. Lawrence Clapp is an attorney and real estate developer in Hawaii and California.

The book has a very professional appearance, like the books in the self-help section at a large bookstore in your local mall. It is not expensive and I believe worth the price. I can recommend this book to all practicing doctors. There are many good motivating stories to freshen your purpose. In addition, this would make a nice reception room book.
