Title: "Say Goodby to Tendinitis"

Category: Patient Education
Author: Edward G. Holtman, D.C

Publisher: Edward G. Holtman, D.C., Hartford, WI (414) 673-5650 Publication: Single Video Tape -- 50 Minutes

Tendinitis is a condition that often does not respond well to spinal adjustments only. Dr. Holtman explains in a patient education video how to locate the tendons and techniques for self-treatment. There is a comprehensive set of exercise techniques that can be used in tendinitis cases.

Dr. Edward Holtman has practiced 41 years in Hartford, Wisconsin. He had elbow and shoulder tendinitis so bad he almost had to quit practice. These techniques were developed by him to cure his own condition.

The quality of the production appears somewhat amateurish in places although professional editing is obvious. There is a musical soundtrack that can be distracting while Dr. Holtman is talking. These minor problems could be overlooked if the material were extremely valuable.

Unfortunately, the information contained in this presentation would be elementary to the practicing chiropractor. It is designed as a patient education tool and the value is high for Dr. Holtman's tendinitis patients. Nevertheless, it is not professional enough for other doctors to show their patients. In addition, with patient compliance always an issue, these protocols seem cumbersome and follow-through may be sacrificed.

I liked Dr. Holtman's presentation and thought how valuable it is for his patients. It made me think that perhaps I should make something like this for my patients. However, I could not recommend it to you either to educate yourself or your patients.
