Lew Huf Image01Another great effort by Drs. Huff and Brady. Similar to the first edition of Instant Access, this is a small, paperback reference book, complete with 442 pages of useful, relevant clinical information.

There are 10 sections, easily located by green page borders. Navigating through this book is a breeze when you need a quick overview of a specific condition. The 10 sections are titled as follows: Headaches, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Facial and Neck Pain Syndromes, Injuries to the Shoulder Joint, Injuries to the Elbow Joint, Injuries to the Wrist Joint, Low Back Pain Syndromes, Scoliosis, Lower Extremity Injuries and Pain Syndromes, and finally, Related Disorders. The related topics under each heading are divided into a systematic review of each condition. You can find the definition of the condition, etiology, signs and symptoms, palpation, pain patterns, range of motion, location, weakness, radiation of pain, differential diagnosis, orthopedic tests, radiological findings, treatment goals, management protocols, nutritional management protocols and references, home care protocols, and aggravating factors. A few conditions, such as diabetes, fibromyalgia, and cervical and lumbar spine injuries, include flow diagrams for quick differential diagnosis.

New information in this edition includes commonly seen internal disorders, expanded information on fibromyalgia, and nutritional and herbal protocols. The appendix features contact information for nutritional product manufacturers, and specialty clinical laboratory recommendations. Outcome assessment questionnaires for low back disability and pain disability are also included in the text. Again, this is the perfect book for the new doctor or intern, especially useful during their clinical internship experience. It is easily read and digested, and at a reasonable price; you will truly enjoy this one.

Dr. Kintish's Rating:
