Master Talk

CD Review by Jeffrey Kintish, DC

Title: Master Talk
Editors: Drs. Larry Markson, Dennis Perman and Bob Hoffman
Publisher: The Masters Circle, Inc.
Type: Audio CD
Purpose: Doctor empowerment/practice-building
Price: $149 per year

Master Talk is a monthly audio series brought to you by Drs. Larry Markson, Dennis Perman and Bob Hoffman - the leaders of The Masters Circle. These three motivators are some of the best in the field, focused on bringing you ideas to enhance your personal growth and development while teaching you the latest practice-building techniques.

This monthly installment begins with a discussion on the five major steps of goal-setting, followed by a short blurb on the importance of service to others. Dr. Markson follows with the need for a charismatic personality for personal and professional success. If you have ever heard him speak, you know he feels strongly about the "law of attraction," which states, "You will attract the people, places, circumstances and events that your thoughts emit."

Following a spiel advertising The Master Circle's next event in Las Vegas, Dr. Perman gives a brief talk about freedom of spirituality and the ability to make choices; then Dr. Hoffman discusses diaphragmatic breathing and the mind-body effects of breath on health. The guest speaker on this disc is Dr. Bruce Liftman, who shakes up the topic of genetics and personal characteristics. The major point of argument revolves around the belief that who we are is preprogrammed and not able to be changed. Dr. Liftman tries to dispel these ideas with some new research.

I listened to this CD a few times and found myself getting a little more out of it each time. The subjects are short and concise, but barely brush the surface and act more like food for thought. It would be difficult to master any of these ideas without further advice and counseling, although I imagine having a monthly mailing of these programs would be motivating and enlightening. Working in a practice alone is isolating, so it is always easier when we able to learn and be inspired by new techniques and ideas. The subject matter presented in audio format can be easily infused and help you on your way to success in all aspects of life.
