Product Review

Title: Trigger Point Flip Chart
Author: Travell & Simons
Publication: 22-page desktop flip chart packet
Publisher: Williams & Wilkins, Baltimore, MD, 1996
Category: Patient education, student instruction
Cost: $59

An updated product from Travell & Simons makes patient education about trigger points and their referral patterns easier than ever. This review concerns the desk-top flip chart (with built-in stand) which covers virtually all trigger point illustrations from their text Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction: The Trigger Point Manual-Volumes 1 & 2. The flip charts are printed on heavy stock paperboard and spiral bound. Their 12" x 15" size (with three to four figures per page) are of reasonable dimension for photocopying for patient referral.

As a patient education tool this is of unquestionable value. At this price the flip chart is easily affordable, and its presence in the office also serves a reminder to the physician of the variety of sources of referred pain and their patterns. This is essential to the chiropractic office by nature of their content, quality and clarity of illustration.

Silvestrone Rating: 10+ out of 10
